Who we are.
Rite Otai is a New Zealand ready to drink brand. This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect.
- The details you give us in our forms: your name, contact details, business or event details and your message.
- The result of our age check. Your date of birth is never sent to us. Only a yes or no result is stored, and only on your own device.
- Basic, anonymous analytics about how the site is used.
Why we collect it.
To respond to your enquiry, to connect event enquiries with a stockist and to improve this website.
Who we share it with.
If you send an event enquiry, we may share your details with one stockist so they can help you. We also use service providers for website hosting, email delivery and analytics. They only use your information to provide those services to us. We do not sell your information.
Storage and security.
Your information is stored with our hosting provider and protected with access controls. Only the founders can read enquiries.
How long we keep it.
We keep enquiries for 24 months, then delete them.
Your rights.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact us and we'll respond within 20 working days.
Marketing.
We only send marketing messages if you have ticked the box to receive them, in line with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe.
Cookies and local storage.
We use your browser's storage to remember that you have passed the age check, either for this visit or for 30 days if you choose. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings.
Complaints.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please talk to us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Changes to this policy.
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
